THE ROLE:

The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst assists in analytical support for forward-looking financial and business-related projects. They will be responsible for assisting in preparation, coordination, and documentation of financial analysis projects. Such projects include partnering with department leaders to calculate commission calculations and support in ad hoc analysis. The Financial Planning Analyst will also assists in the preparation of financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts. In addition, the Financial Planning Analyst will play a key role during the annual budget season to assist in obtain an understanding of key business initiatives, hiring plans, and planned operating expenses and assist in the modeling of those line items in the budget. The Financial Planning Analyst will work alongside finance and operation leaders to assist in analyzing trends in revenue, finance, general business conditions, and other related areas. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Partner with department leaders and executive team members to create the Company’s budget for the subsequent year. This process includes, demonstrating a basic level of understanding of the business for the budgets being worked on (services rendered, operational processes, KPIs, trends)​ and assisting in budgeting for non-financial and financial metrics.
  • Evaluate month end financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with budget. Collaborating with the AP team to obtain an understanding of expenses incurred and provide explanations for items above budget.
  • Prepare financial reporting packages as part of the month end process, which includes the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows.
  • Record payroll expenses, calculate payroll accruals for month end, and validate the accuracy of the month end accruals after month end.
  • Has an intermediate level of understanding of operational expenses, payroll, budgeting, segment reporting, and budget vs. actual analysis, bonuses and commission calculations, balance sheet account reconciliations, and the financial close process.
  • Assist in the creation of a service level income statement by working with department heads and other leadership team members to identify how costs should be allocated. Assist in the creation of an allocation matrix and partner with the accounting teams to ensure costs are being properly coded for allocation purposes.  

This is a hybrid position, requiring you to come into our El Segundo, CA corporate office at least 3x a week. 

 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

Qualifications

  • Experience in financial modeling and forecasting
  • Basic understanding of U.S GAAP accounting principles
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to manage workload and multi-task on several projects and initiatives
  • Experience working for a healthcare organization, preferred
  • Experience working with multi-location organizations, preferred
  • Strong work ethic
  • Desire to learn and grow in Industry.
  • Detail-oriented, professional attitude, reliable, well organized, and self-starter

Skills

  • Proficient knowledge of Excel
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Power Bi experience or other data visualization tools experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills

The expected California Pay Range for this position:
$80,079$86,070 USD
