Description

Summary:

The Release Engineer will develop and maintain documentation including, release notes, how-to guides, and manuals. Will focus on daily deployment activities in a production environment and a non-production environment, while working together with the product engineers and product owners to make sure the software is delivered and is of desirable quality. Working towards improving the flow of value through value streams by enhancing and analyzing DevOps and Release on Demand procedures in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily deployment activities in a production environment as well as a non-production environment.
  • Automate the compilation, continuous integration, testing, packaging, and distribution of several including mobile software components.
  • Coordinate Go-Live activities, including deployment plans and checklists go Go/No Go meetings 
  • Develop and maintain documentation including release notes, how-to guides, and manuals.
  • Work with product engineering and product owners to ensure software is delivered and is of the desirable quality. 
  • Collaborate with software developers and testers to identify and resolve build or deployment issues.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders’ expectations.
  • Utilize a variety of methods to control and improve the value flow via the ART.
  • Set up and communicate the annual calendars; plan and schedule activities.
  • Track and report on the stability and status of product builds and release.
  • Help manage risks and dependencies.
  • Improve the flow of value through value streams by enhancing and analyzing Dev Ops and Release on Demand procedures in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
  • Analyze and determine integration needs.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven experience as a Build and Release Engineer or similar function in software development and system administration.
  • Experience with build tools such as Maven, Gradle, and Ant.
  • Experience in release and deployment planning and execution. 
  • Working knowledge of multiple tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
  • Experience with process documentation and process documentation tools.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.

     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Build/Release Engineer experience.
