Block is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams — People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more — provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.
As the Lead of the Software Engineering Program Management (EPM) team for Block Hardware, you will manage a team of highly skilled Software EPMs responsible for driving complex, cross-functional programs across payment hardware products as well as our growing portfolio of Bitcoin hardware products. This role requires a strong technical background in consumer electronics, software/firmware systems, hardware–software integration, and an appreciation for the unique challenges and opportunities presented by both payment and Bitcoin-focused devices.
In this role, you will shape strategy for the Software EPM discipline, scale systems and processes across the organization, and ensure the successful delivery of multiple hardware programs simultaneously. You will build clarity across engineering and product teams, enable informed risk‑taking, and cultivate a high‑trust environment where teams do their best work.
The Software EPM role focuses on system integration rather than application‑level software development. Your impact will come through orchestrating complex technical efforts, strengthening organizational execution, and developing the EPM team into a high‑performing and strategically aligned function.
