We are seeking to expand our team and looking to hire an associate advisor in our total wealth management department. We have a fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to work directly with the Sr. Advisors, Managers and Directors to serve clients with complex financial planning and investment needs. This position will work with the client service team to provide services such as the preparation of net worth statements, cash flows, long-range financial projections, income tax projections and various analyses.

 

We are seeking a person who is a self-starter, highly organized, detailed oriented and is accessible, approachable, and can collaborate well with others. The associate will focus on meeting preparation and follow up and will have direct contact with clients, and other advisors as part of client service teams. The associate must be dependable and able to assist with the management and coordination of the work done on behalf of clients by various financial service professionals both externally (CPAs, estate planners, insurance professionals, etc.) and internally (Tax Services, Strategic Planning, and Investment Strategy & Research).

How you will contribute:

  • Assist in developing and updating wealth management deliverables, including client target asset allocations, cash flow plans, and net worth statements.
  • Prepare and review client meeting materials, draft follow-up memos, and complete assigned tasks
  • Participate in internal strategy discussions for clients. 
  • Gather financial information and prepare client balance sheets, cash flow schedules, investment planning deliverables, and insurance summaries utilizing financial planning software and other tools. 
  • Prepare long-term capital sufficiency analyses based on personal financial goals, current financial data, tax rates, and inflation and investment assumptions 
  • Proactively recognize client issues, propose solutions, and add insight to analysis
  • Facilitate the integration of projects and analyses done on behalf of our clients. 
  • Coordinate with other team members/professionals to implement financial plans on behalf of clients. 
  • Work alongside the Sr. Advisor to cultivate new client relationships

 The attributes and talents that lead to success in the role are:

Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of comprehensive financial planning topics such as retirement planning, employee benefits, insurance, investments, asset allocation, estate planning techniques, income taxation, and executive compensation. 
  • Basic understanding of personal/entity income tax rules and the ability to analyze personal/entity income tax returns. 
  • Basic understanding of financial statements including balance sheets and cash flow statements. 
  • Familiarity with investments, including concepts of portfolio design and diversification. 

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • OUTSTANDING communication skills – both written and verbal

 

Abilities:

  • EXTREMELY meticulous – must have proven ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Impeccable ability to maintain privacy

 

Experience and Education:

We will consider any combination of experience and education which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job. A typical way to acquire the requirements would be:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. We prefer accounting, finance, law, economics, or extensive experience in a related field. Graduate degree or CPA desirable, but not necessary.
  • CFP® preferred or demonstrated progress toward acquiring the CFP®, i.e., ongoing plan for completion of required coursework and taking the CFP® exam. 
  • 1-2 years of experience serving wealth management clients preferred, preferably managing them through a long-range capital sufficiency process

 

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Primarily sedentary work in an office with minimal distractions; walking throughout the office. Learn and memorize tasks; execute tasks independently; apply knowledge and use judgment to manage situations. Occasionally exert up to ten pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Perform repetitive motions; substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers for computer keyboard operation. Use near visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing documents, operating a computer, and reading. Speak and hear to communicate with team members and clients by phone and in-person.
